Citrix Install Procedure

Perform the Citrix install for each server that you want DAS.  The Citrix server must have Citrix and a full E1 client install.

Special Notes for Windows 2000 and NT 4

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\ReportsNow\Data Access Studio\dsoframer.ocx"

This command registers the dsoFramer.ocx ActiveX control on your Citrix server.

Install Instructions

  • IMPORTANT! Copy the contents of the <Dep Server Name>\B7333\Data Access Studio" to a local folder on your Citrix server.  To install DAS, go to Add | Remove Programs, select Setup.exe in the local folder you create.  If you do not do this, setup.exe will not work correctly on Citrix.
  • If you do not have the .NET framework on your workstation, the setup program will launch the .NET installer.  When prompted to do so, install the .NET framework to your workstation.  This installation takes about 5 minutes.  You only need to install the .NET Framework once.
  • Once the .NET pre-requisite is installed, setup presents the installer welcome screen:
  • Click "Next".

  • Pick the default location that the Installer provides.  Select the "Everyone" radio button.  Click "Next".
  • Click "Next" again to begin the installation.
  • Once the installation is complete, press "Close".
  • If the machine's MDAC level is below 2.8, setup.exe will invoke the MDAC installer.  This install is optional unless you intend to use the OLE DB features of DAS.  If you perform the MDAC install, then you will be required to reboot this machine.  To cancel the MDAC install, press Cancel.  Otherwise install the updated MDAC drivers.
  • Publish Data Access Studio:
    • Executable is: <DAS Installation Folder>\DataAccessStudio.exe
    • Working Directory is: <DAS Installation Folder>

Where <DAS Installation Folder> is the folder to which you installed DAS when you ran setup.exe.

  • To run DAS, instruct your users to run the published DataAccessStudio.exe executable.
