Version History
5.1 - Search and Organize Dates
- Search and Home Page. 5.1 has a homepage that helps you
get started using DAS faster. This window immediately pops up when
you start DAS or if all windows are closed.

There are quick start buttons for Reports, Layouts, JDE Tables, and Non-JDE
Tables. There are also quick start buttons to get you to the web help and
video training. For E1 users, you can type in the name of any application
or report in the search window. DAS will find matching results. The
search is case insensitive. Use the search to find the business view that
any application or report uses. You can type in the description or object
name.
- Organize Dates. Imagine you want to see sales by
quarter and compare it to sales by quarter of the previous year for any
quarter you want. Organize Dates does this and a whole lot more.
What may be the most powerful calculation to date, Organize dates lets you
instantly transform transactional data into more useful date summaries by
any combination of week, quarter, months, YTD, years. Furthermore, you
can easily compare the date organization to any previous number of years.
Also, all dates are relative to the input date. So when you provide a
new reference date, the organization shifts automatically! Customers
saved countless hours with this new capability. For more information,
see this training video:
Organize Dates and help topic: Organize
Date Information
- Read-only Embed Excel. Now there are publishing
options for your embed Excel report to: make it read-only, hide the "Data"
tab, and hide any not-for-display worksheets (such as DASLink). This
makes your Embed Excel deployments cleaner and more secure.
- Embed Excel Print driver. You can now assign any
PDF print driver to be the default printer for Embed Excel printing.
- Report Publishing Protection. Now, by default,
only the publisher can overwrite reports she published. You can setup
super users to override this in Work With Security
- Double-click Associated Description. Now you can
double-click the column header of a column that has an associated
description to get its description. Previously, you had to right-click
the column header and select Quick Calculation | EnterpriseOne/World |
Associated description.
- On-the-fly customize view. Previous to 5.1, if
you opened a table or view, you could not say add another table to it.
With 5.1, you can click Layout | Customize View and you can
join additional tables to your layout on-the-fly.
- Quick Report Financial Periods Enhancement. On
the Periods tab for Quick Report Financials, you can now
select more than one organization at a time. For instance you can
select Period and YTD Period
- Table Lookup Row To Fetch. Added parameter
to Table Lookup so that you can optional specify which relative row you want
to return: i.e. first, second, etc.
- Percent of Total. 5.1 adds a new parameter to the
Group Summary Calculation called Column Total. When
checked the Group Summary calculation will show the column total of the
input column. You can then divide another column by the Group Summary
to get a percent of total.
- Description and Alias Caption. Now there is a new
column caption option: Description and Alias that shows the description and
the data item together for the column.
5.0 - Quick Reports and Language
- Quick Report. Now you can create financial reports with
accounting-only concepts -- no JDE technical knowledge required!
Create Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Budget vs. Actuals, Business
Unit comparisons with unprecedented ease and flexibility. Organize
your report by fiscal period, fiscal quarter or fiscal year. Even
compare to previous periods and show the result dynamically in Excel!

- 9 Languages! Data Access Studio reads your Windows language
and automatically runs in the following languages:
- Spanish
- French
- Portuguese
- German
- Dutch
- Italian
- Russian
- Japanese
- Chinese
- Improved Report Parameters. In the previous versions of DAS,
the report control panel floated above the report. With 5.0, the
Report Parameters are part of the layout frame. You can now easily
create parameters by dragging and dropping columns onto the Report
Parameter designer.

- Undo/Redo. Now you can undo changes and redo
changes.
- List Calculation. Now you can define how to rollup any
criteria with a list. You can organize your lists easily with
drag-drop operations. You can save and publish list so others can share
in your work. Once created, the list calculation guarantees a
placeholder for each list value in the layout--thereby eliminating the
need for VLOOKUPS in Excel.
- Better filter helper. Now any criteria
or filter box that can take advanced filter values (such as as lists,
ranges, relative date ranges, etc.) shows a handy filter helper icon.
Click the Filter Helper icon to quickly and intuitively create the
filters you need. Also, when you tab out of the filter, Data
Access Studio shows the filter as reader-friendly text.

- Date ranges relative to today. You can now define date
ranges relative to today's date such as: between today and 30 days ago,
or between today and 3 months ago, etc. Click the Filter Help and
select Today to access the relative date filter form:

- New User Manual. Friendlier and more useful.
The user manual is now organized by user type and tasks. The Administrator guide is
now a separate manual.
